The Gala Dinner is the highlight of the Convention. It will be held in Haddo House, a stately home, approximately 20 miles north of Aberdeen. The Gordons, who later became the Earls and Marquesses of Aberdeen, lived on the site for over 500 years. The present house dates from 1732 and was designed in Georgian Palladian style; it contains a large art collection. The house has been owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1979.
The evening will commence with a piper greeting the guests to a cocktail reception in the main house. This will be followed by dinner in the function suite during which entertainment of Scottish music and dancing will be provided, followed by a traditional Scottish Ceilidh (song and dance) for everyone to join in!
Costs are included in the overall registration fee which is subsidised thanks to a grant from VisitAberdeenshire tourism office. Coach transport is provided to and from the event.
